Large fields of yellow, green and olive form an ordered composition whose stability is disrupted by red axes and diagonal cuts. Small circles and rectangular signs appear as reference points in an abstract space, giving the whole a precise, almost structural rhythm. The image balances geometry and intuition, order and a deliberate shifting of its rules. Shifted Balance speaks of an equilibrium that comes from the tension between different forces holding a whole together, rather than perfect symmetry. The only physical copy of this artwork. Once sold, the edition is permanently closed and will not be reprinted.
